Macaroon Madness

A few months back I announced on Facebook that I had never had a French macaroon. I was ridiculed for my confession and soon realized I needed to rectify the situation. Like immediately.

After much deliberation with friends, I found out that I needed to be very selective about where I go for my very first macaroon. I took everyone’s recommendations and then continued my research on Yelp. I did discover the best spots were in San Francisco, but in order to avoid the commute, we opted for a more local bakery that did not disappoint, Pamplemousse Patisserie et Café.

This was one sweet date night! I have to admit – I was a skeptic at first. Let’s face it, I’m a chocolate chip cookie kind of girl. But after biting into that macaroon, it was like love at first bite.

So the moral of the story is this – if you’re in need of a date night idea – find a local bakery and enjoy some macaroons. But even better, think of something that you’ve never had and go try it together. It could end up being one sweet adventure!

Adam + Abby
A SF Photo Date

I met them both my freshman year of college. It was very rare that you’d see one without the other. They were completely inseparable. When I reconnected with Abby on Facebook, it did not surprise me at all when her profile told me she was married to Adam.

What did surprise me, however, was to read that she was currently living in San Francisco. A mid-westy in my hood? I couldn’t wait to reconnect with them and find out how they were adjusting to life out west.

I thought for sure that Abby and Adam had met that first year of college, but it turns out they actually met in high school. These two have now been married for over 4 years and yet, if you were to see them, you’d think they were still high school sweethearts.

Abby and Adam, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to document your love. You guys are just as fun and sweet as I remember you in college. I hope as long as we are both in San Francisco, we will continue to make new memories together out West.

Picnic Perfect

With the onslaught of warm weather, I can’t shake the idea of getting outside for the first picnic of the season.

These past engagement photos of Matt and Claire are the perfect inspiration for a picnic spread. I envision something very similar in my near future. You just can’t go wrong with salami, creamy cheese, and sweet fruit. And with the love of your life by your side with a glass of red vino – you have, what I would say, is picnic perfection.

Anyone else out there have a craving for a picnic?
