Our First
Big Fat Greek Wedding

our-first-big-fat-greek-wedding

This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing our very first big fat Greek wedding.

When Nicole initially emailed to inquire about our services, she asked if we had ever photographed a Greek wedding. I believe in transparency, so I told her we had not. Then I followed with, “But we have seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding so perhaps that will help us prepare.” She played along and assured me that was exactly what we should expect. I loved Nicole’s sense of humor and was thrilled when she and Anthony chose us to be their wedding photographers.

Nicole and Anthony’s wedding was this past Saturday and I’m still smiling about it today. It was everything I dreamed a big fat Greek wedding would be and more. Towards the end of the reception, I hugged Nicole’s mom goodbye and told her I wanted to be Greek. We laughed together as we had many times that day. I don’t know if it’s the Greek culture or just Anthony and Nicole’s family and friends, but they not only made us feel welcome, they made us feel like we belonged.

As we drove home exhausted and achy after the long day, I couldn’t help feeling thankful. I love being a part of doing whatever it takes to make our clients’ wedding day the very best it could ever be. This brings Vitaliy and I true joy. And it’s achieved in many more ways than just taking a picture.

Stewart + Andrea
The Wedding

Stewart and Andrea are the kind of people you want to call friends from the very first time you meet them.

A few weeks before their wedding, we sat across from each other over dinner. They retold the story of how they met, not missing a single detail. Then they shared memories about their families from younger years and stories about their friends from recent years. On the drive home, I remember feeling so thankful. To have clients who trust you enough to share their lives, memories and families with you is truly a blessing. It made me even more excited for their upcoming wedding and the opportunity to meet all of the special people in their lives.

Stewart and Andrea were married at the beautiful Valley Presbyterian Church, followed by an insanely fun reception at the Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. All of their friends and family spent the entire night on the dance floor. Even their grandparents danced the night away doing moves I’ve never seen a grandparent do before. It was an unforgettable celebration!

Stewart and Andrea, thank you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers. It was really a treat for us! You guys are beautiful inside and out and we are so excited for your future together as husband and wife. Congratulations to you both! We wish you a marriage filled with love and laughter.

Nautical Wedding Buoy Garland

Being self-employed can get lonely at times which is why collaborations are always welcomed by us.

If you or someone you know is having a nautical themed wedding, then we have a treat for you. Our friends over at Going Lovely designed this cute nautical buoy garland which looked perfect strung on a cake table. The best part is they mapped out the entire process so that you can do it yourself at home. We had the pleasure of photographing it all for them. You can see more photos and all the details over at Green Wedding Shoes.

Christie and PJ from Going Lovely are a complete joy to work alongside. They are both creative and fun, but they are also kindhearted. Just the type of people you want to work with for your wedding day. If you are in need of a designer/coordinator for your big day, be sure to check out their website and get to know them better.
