On Green Wedding Shoes

Vitaliy and I are so thankful to see Becca and Orion’s wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes this week. We owe a big thanks to Allison from Engaged and Inspired who designed the beautiful event for her sister. And to Sarah Seven for the whimsical dress Becca wore. Later this week, we’re going to share some of our favorite design elements, but first we want to focus on the happy couple.

At it’s core a wedding is really about two people in love, committing the rest of their lives to one another. Today we want to celebrate Becca and Orion. Their love. And their promise.

I was so happy to read in the GWS feature that Becca and Orion’s favorite memory from the day was their First Look. Her words are the perfect description of what we hope to give our couples during this special time of the wedding day. Here is what they shared:

“The most memorable part for us was the first look and the photo session we did. Everything was starting to stress us out so heading down the street to an empty field for the first look was exactly what we needed to get away from it all. After seeing each other for the first time, it felt like the wedding had actually begun. Taking photos was really fun and the setting was beautiful. It was bright with some occasional rain and we had fun playing around with it (and I loved wearing my rain boots for it).”

Congratulations Becca and Orion! We are so excited for you! We want to wish you a lifetime of love and laughter as husband and wife. Have fun growing old together! Our one piece of advice – no matter how crazy life gets, always find time to spend just the two of you.

xoxo – V & C

Happy Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Vitaliy and I had a very sweet weekend. The warm weather and time with friends made it feel like summer time here in the Bay. We finished off the weekend with a trip to the Alameda Antique Fair and then came home and made this recipe for dinner. The combination of strawberries and leeks was so intriguing I had to try it. And let me tell you – we found it to be absolutely delightful!

If you are like most people, you’re likely dreading that Monday has showed up at your door this morning. So to get things started off on a lighter note, you must watch this video for a good laugh. I’m convinced this will be Vitaliy and I one day in the future.

Our Life. In Focus.

At the beginning of this week, Vitaliy and I officially completed the 30 Day Vlog Challenge.

It was definitely a crash course in video making. But even more so, it tested our relationship. Our insecurities were exposed and our perseverance tried. But we did it! I am happy that we worked through the difficulties together and stuck to our commitment. “Together” being the key word. There is something so beautiful about struggling through something, refusing to give up no matter difficulty, and coming through to the other side. Don’t you think?

I hope the videos encouraged at least one couple out there. We had an incredible time laughing, crying and fighting our way through them.

This weekend we are celebrating Cinco de Mayo with friends. Not that I need an excuse to eat Mexican! And we are also hoping to find some good treasures at the Alameda Antique Fair.
