The First Man
In My Life

The first man I ever went on a date with is in town, my dad.

We are having a total blast! From the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods to Napa, and tomorrow we’re heading to Big Sur and then Hearst Castle. My step sister Julie is here too celebrating her upcoming senior year of high school. Of course, we’ll be taking some Senior Pictures this week.

But regardless of the adventures and the sight seeing, I simply love to be in my dad’s presence. To hear stories that I don’t get to hear everyday. I love doing the one thing you can’t avoid doing when you’re with my dad, laughing. Love and laughter is abounding and I’m soaking up every minute of it.

In order to fulling take it all in, this will be the only post for the week. We’ll be checking back in next Tuesday. Here are some recent photos from our recent trip to Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley.

Any fun trips planned for you this summer?

10 Year Vow Renewal
San Francisco

For their 10 year wedding anniversary, Rob and Missy decided to go back. All the way back to the very spot where Rob asked Missy to be his wife on one cold and windy San Francisco night, with the Golden Gate Bridge as their backdrop.

They took photos at this very spot and reminisced. As one can imagine, so much has happened since that proposal.

Like most couples on their wedding day, Rob and Missy made vows to one another naïve to what the future held as husband and wife or how those vows would be tested. Ten years later, they stood side by side to share what their original vows meant then and what they mean today. Recommitting to one another, with their son and daughter by their side to witness and be a part of it all.

Rob and Missy, you are a perfect example of what Vitaliy and I strive for, to not only stay committed to one another but to stay in love. Your commitment is not only a blessing to each other, but to your children, and to the many people who get to witness it. Cheers to many, many more years of love and laughter!

Summer
Carnival Fun

Every year I drive past the San Mateo County Fair and tell myself this will be the year we go. But the high prices and a busy schedule always convince me otherwise. Until this year, when I scored free tickets. On top of that, I found out that Boyz II Men were playing. I wasn’t going to let anything stop me. Not even Vitaliy’s loathsome feelings towards R&B music.

We ate pulled pork and corn on the cob. I belted out the best of Boyz II Men. And we ended the evening with a wild ride and then a kiss on the Ferris wheel. All of my carnival dreams came true this year. Except one thing, I forgot to get cotton candy.

Are you going to any fairs this summer?
