Let’s Ride!

We hit the pavement and I could hear the wet crunch of city streets underneath my tires. The cool air whipped past and my fingers immediately ached with coldness. We forgot our gloves at home, but I have no regrets. It made me feel. It helped me remember. For this was a moment I wouldn’t want to soon forget.

Date Idea: Go for a bike ride together. It’s not ingenious, but it felt as if we had stumbled upon a gold mine. The treasure chest of date ideas. I had a smile plastered to my face during the entire two hour adventure.

I keep asking myself, what made this date so special? It could have to do with the vintage bikes, courtesy of the Ace Hotel. And I would say that Portland romanced me in more ways then one. But there was something about riding bikes next to my husband. Like two kids out to play. Young and free.

This one is going down in the history books. We’ll be old, gray and barely able to walk. I’ll look at Vitaliy and say, “Remember our bike ride in downtown Portland?” He’ll sip his tea, while his wrinkles overlap each other, as a smile forms across his face.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Let Your Love Soar

I watched as the trees swayed outside my window. The sun shone brightly and beckoned me to come out and play. Unfortunately, I was stuck at my computer. Yesterday would have been the perfect day for kite flying.

I’m not one to give up though. Thankfully, the Bay Area is a perfect spot to fly kites so I know my opportunity will return. And when it does I will grab Vitaliy by the hand and convince him to get tangled up with me…in the kites, of course!

A Night Away
Ace Hotel Portland

I’ve heard that staycations are pretty incredible. I hope Vitaliy and I plan one later this year even if it’s short. But whether you’re on a stay-cation or a va-cation, I highly recommend finding a night to slip away to a nearby hotel.

It can’t be just any hotel though. During our recent trip to visit Vitaliy’s grandma, we spent our last night at the Ace Hotel in downtown Portland. The Ace is definitely unlike any hotel I’ve stayed at so far. It wasn’t fancy or luxurious; it was simply unique. It’s hipster vibe made me forget about reality. All I could think about was the coolness of this place, the creativity that surrounded me, and the love of my life by my side.

Pick a night. Find a cool hotel. And getaway. All with the one you LOVE.
