Cold City Streets

On Sunday night we walked from our hotel to a nearby movie theatre.

We went to see Safehouse. After the movie ended, finally holding his hand with a normal grip, we made our way to the exit. As we stepped out into the deserted city street, we immediately felt the rain kiss our faces. We laughed at our unpreparedness and decided to walk back in spite of the rain. The wet cold air hit my skin, but I hardly noticed. All I could think about was this man by my side and the memories we had of walking cold city streets together in Chicago. He cupped my hand in his and stuck it in his pocket to keep warm.

It was as if no time had passed. There I was, that same young girl from St. Louis, completely in love with a Ukrainian boy. From completely different worlds. Collided into one.
